S. Livorno Calcio or simply Livorno, is an Italian football club operating at a semi-professional level, situated in Livorno, Tuscany. The team currently participates in Serie D, which is considered the highest tier of semi-professional football in Italy following their elevation from the regional Eccellenza Tuscany league. The club's distinctive colors are a deep red shade known as amaranto in Italian, which also serves as the inspiration for their team nickname. Livorno holds a significant history as one of the original members of Serie A, Italy's elite football league. However, they have faced relegation on seven occasions, leading to their rebuild in 1991 and most recently in 2021, prompting their return from the regional Eccellenza leagues. Their most extended stints in the top division were from 1940 to 1949, spanning seven seasons, and from 2004 to 2008. Throughout their journey, the amaranto have claimed victory in Serie B twice, as well as tasting success in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione and Lega Pro Seconda Divisione once each. Additionally, they have secured the Supercoppa di Serie C title on one occasion. Livorno hosts their home games at the Stadio Armando Picchi.
